I looked around everywhere on my desk to find a big enough space to write about Arfa Karim. I had to stop for a while and take a deep breath to understand the beauty of gifts that come in all sizes and shapes.
I wondered why she had to die and why well others get to live even though they contribute nothing to the world, or at least nothing positive. I realized after a moment that it is indeed not how long one lives, it is only the foot prints or the writings on the wall left behind.
At a young age Afra was invited to visit the Microsoft headquarters and to meet Bill Gates, that is a dream that a person can have and live to a hundred and never reach. Today there is a Science Park in Lahore named after her as Afra Karim Technology Park.
I know that she will be missed in Pakistan and throughout the world, but some how I think she came and did what she had to do. Some may have taken a life time to do this…..
And indeed Arfa Karim took a her life time to accomplish a legacy that will live much much longer than you or I.

Afra’s life reminds us why every second we have with us is important. And that a lot can be accomplished even in very little time – if we have the determination. Thank you Bahareh for the reminder through your blog post.

YES, indeed a lot can be done in a little time and nothing can be done in a lot of time. I suppose then we have to ask ourselves what “a lot” is.
What is it to you?
Thank you for the reminder of asking what it is really that counts.
