The Book Fair Experience is one that I had had before, but never before in light of being a POET.
The highlight of the event was being a part of something so big and grand.
Reading, writing, reciting, listening, interviewing, and interweaving.
It was absolutely fantastic!!!!
I met such wonderful people. We had a dinner party for visiting authors that were invited by the British Council. Among them were Tim Mackintosh Smith author of many many books on Yemen and Ibn Battuta,he is the author of “Yemen Travels in Dictionary Land” and “Yemen the Unknown Arabia” and series of books on Ibn Battutah.
Marina Lewycka was also a guest she is author of “The Short History of Tractors in Ukranian”. She was truly such a pleasure to know and to be with. We visited the mosque together on her last day here. She is truly a beautiful soul who is thankful for everything in life.
And also Tishani Doshi the visiting poet, with whom I did a recital. She is a dancer, writer, and poet, her book of poetry “Everything Begins Elsewhere” is one she read from at our recital. Tishani is full of grace and her power to intrigue and charm while she reads from the quiet places of her heart are fantatic to watch. I was truly fortunate to get to know her, through our interview and time together away from the book fair.
The book fair was a journey of a life time that spread on three days… Please watch the video and share the journey with me.
