Fathers Day Poem

Ode To Fathers
My Father's Image

On this father’s day I feel fortunate to know what a true father looks like

On this father’s day I am lucky to have sensed the touch of a kind heart

Who was with me at birth and with whom I was at death

My father helped me believe who I was

And that was to believe in me

On this father’s day, I remember all the children who have lost their father to war or peace

On this day, I remember all the fathers who lost their children at birth or to suicide

On this day, I remember the old man down the lane
who had no kids but adopted a dozen in far away lands

On this day, I thank my father for showing me the importance of dignity
even after the revolution took his

From a Father to a Child

You came to my life and I then knew what the sun feels like

You came into the world
and then I knew the colors of the rainbow existed in the white of your eyes

You make the world turn around
and although I ask you to study to be a lawyer a doctor or an astronaut

I love you for your heart of gold and the charm you have been for me since birth

From Child to Father

I am thankful for your thoughts

I am thankful for your lessons

Each lesson full of thoughts

Each thought full of lessons

I will carry with me the prayers and the hard love

The hard love made me learn and the prayers helped me see

Thank you Father

Thank you dear Travel Companion and Friend. Fathers are beautiful beings regardless of if they have given us life or just touched our life.
