Here we are at the onset of another year. As always there are those of us that start thinking of New Year Resolutions. There were times that I with the help of one of my older brothers Hamid, who passed away 23 years ago, used to make resolutions each year.
Hamid (God rest his soul) was the king of lists, and he was a wonderful optimist that always made me believe I could do anything I put on the list.
He is the brother with whom I attended many Dale Carnegie talks and also talks of Leo Buscalia otherwise known as Dr. Love. Perhaps it is thanks to all those wonderful teachers including my brother that I believe today that I can do anything I want to do in 2013.
As I sit here, about 23 hours left to the new year, I know just one resolution that I would like to make this coming year.
That resolution can come in the form of different words, but its essence is the same.
PAUSE
Pause
pause
I would like to learn to pause more before and after each action, each decision, each step.
In a way sometimes, this may be the same as sitting on my rock, sitting to ponder, think, meditate, pray, think, talk, write, dream or day dream and sit.
Have you made any resolutions for yourself this year?
Here I would like to share with you a poem that is the essence of pausing and sitting.
The poem is called The Angel Who Lost His Wings.
The Angel who lost his Wings
Once upon a time
there was an Angel
an Angel who had
lost his wings.
He was walking through life
wondering what fault had made
his wings disappear…
He saw the birds flying through the sky
and the bees buzzing around-
He saw a rock by the river and sat
and sat
and sat
After years of sitting he decided
to walk again and look for his wings…
That is when he started
to fly wingless with heart

I love your new years resolution. Pause, Pause, Pause. That is good advice for anyone who hears in this world where we are all running fast in our thoughts, actions, and words. Happy New Year, my friend. I wish you a year filled with all the love, peace, joy, success, laughter, hope, and faith light can bring. I love you. rx

Dearest Raz, thank you for this wonderful thought and your acceptance of this resolution. I do hope I am able to recall and remember this resolution and the minutes of 2013 turn to the hours, and days and weeks and months. In the Pause so much is resolved. Thank you for visiting my path and my journey.
